Our cabins are smoke-free and pet-free!

Information you might be looking for

Burson's Delta Resort is located approximately 30 minutes from Munising/Pictured Rocks/Lake Superior, 20 minutes from Kitch-iti-kipi (Big Spring), and 30 minutes from Manistique/Lake Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula.  Can you find Steuben or Thunder Lake on your map or phone?  We're about 4 miles from each of those.  You can put our address in your GPS, but we can't guarantee it will get you here....we're in a pretty remote area.  Check out our Directions tab for specifics on how to get to the Resort.

Check-in time:  4:00 p.m. EST

Check-out time:  10:00 a.m. EST

Your payment is due within a week of making your reservation!  We accept personal checks, money order or a credit card with PayPal/Square payments (4% fee added).  If we don't receive payment, then we will have to remove you from the reservation book and your cabin will be open to other renters.

WE ARE A PET-FREE RESORT!  This is nothing personal against pets in the least; however, we cannot make any exceptions due to a pet allergy.  Violation of this policy will result in a $1500 charge to your credit card on file.

Here are a few things you need to know about our place; we are situated on Foote Lake, which is about 25 acres in size.  You have a rowboat included with your cabin, and we provide life jackets should you not want to bring your own.  Can you swim in the lake?  Absolutely!  BUT, we do not have a beach.  The lake does not have enough large wave action to have a sandy beach.  That said, there are two lakes within 1/2-1 mile of us, both with sandy beaches; and of course, the big lakes (Superior and Michigan) you can swim in when you're out sightseeing.

Our big Pine cabin was built in 1913, and the other cabins were built in the late 1940's and late 1950's.  These are still as original as the day they were built!  The cabin you'll be renting has electricity, one bathroom with a stand-up shower, a living area, kitchen area, and one or more double beds or queen beds.  Our cabins have septic systems, so please bear this in mind.

You'll need to remember to bring your own bath towels, kitchen towels and dish cleaning towels. Products such as toilet paper, paper towels and small trash bags will also need to be on your list.  There is a "starter set" of paper products in your cabin including toilet paper, garbage bags, dishwashing liquid, and coffee filters.  All bedding is provided.  Maybe your kids would like to snuggle up in a sleeping bag at night that you can just throw on the bed...if you have room to transport it in your vehicle! There is a coffee maker in your cabin as well, but no TV (there is no reception in the woods) or microwave.  There is also no central air nor fans.  You might want to include a fan when you're packing!  WiFi is available, but can be spotty at times.  We have recently had the WiFi updated, but again, we cannot promise you'll have a signal at all times.  The signal is especially bad towards the end of the Resort in Cedar and Spruce.  You also will likely not have cell service.  Periodically you can get a cell signal down on the pier, but rather than count on that, make sure to do all your calling and connecting when you're on a day trip where you can get cell service.

FIREWOOD needs to be on your list of supplies to bring.  You are welcome to venture out onto the property and find wood that has fallen and is on the ground, but if you don't feel like doing that, you'll need to grab a bundle or two on your way here.  You will likely have to purchase this once in the Upper Peninsula, as it cannot be brought across the Mackinac Bridge or over state lines.

Our cabins are NON-SMOKING!  Smoking includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, pipes, cigars, and any other form of inhaled substance.

As for food and supplies, staying at our Resort somewhat resembles a camping trip if you've ever been on one.  However, if you've never had to plan for camping, we usually tell people to plan their menu for the week and then bring what they can for that particular meal.  Typically on vacation you don't eat huge meals, but smaller ones more frequently.  We have a potluck and hot dog roast on Wednesday nights of each week, so plan on that if you'd like to join us. Feel free to grill out while you're here, but please keep in mind you'll have to do your cooking up at the fire pit in the designated area due to the ever present danger of forest fires.

If you do any traveling or sightseeing you might eat out, and of course, don't forget to plan meals of fish to eat from what you catch while you're here!  On your trip here, the last big towns you may go through (Escanaba, Marquette, Munising or Manistique) are the closest towns to us with supermarkets.  We are 25 miles from two of those towns and further yet (60 miles) from the other two, so make sure you stock up on what you need before you pass those!

"What should we bring to wear?"  Everything up here is pretty casual....we wear jeans almost everywhere.  Bring a jacket or a sweatshirt, as it can get chilly and sometimes "buggy".  You might also want to bring rain gear if you plan to do things despite the weather.  It can be warm too, so shorts and swimwear are equally important.

Definitely plan on fishing while at the Resort.  You can go out in the boat that comes with your cabin, or fish from the pier located at the northern part of the lake down from our big cabin.  We have life preservers for all ages if you don't bring your own, as this is Michigan law.  There are bluegill, bass and northern pike in abundance, as well as perch and crappie.  We have a screened-in fish cleaning house for your convenience located at the center of the Resort so that "not so nice" job can be done there!  Please, please, do your cleaning there.  DO NOT clean fish at your cabin, inside or out!  Clean your fish at the fish cleaning house and dispose of the fish guts outside in the cement covered hole.  No paper or plastic in this hole.  It is for fish guts only.

Remember, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or drop us an email.  We're here to help in any way possible that can make your stay more enjoyable!
