From Iowa:  Take 61 North to Dubuque, 151 North to Madison, 12/18 around Madison to Interstate 90 North, then 151 again towards Sun Prairie.  Take 151 to 26 North through Rosendale, then get on 41 North to Marinette, WI/Menominee, MI.  Once through Menominee, take M-35 to Escanaba.  Continued directions are right after the Wisconsin/Illinois travelers' directions.

 

Wisconsin/Illinois travelers:  Once you get around Green Bay, you're taking 41 North to Marinette, WI/Menominee, MI.  Once through Menominee, take M-35 to Escanaba.  

Iowa/Wisconsin/Illinois travelers, here are the continued directions from M-35:  From Escanaba, take US 2 around 40 miles to Cooks, where you will see a two-toned blue steel building on the left, and LaTulip Brewing Company.  You're also looking for a green Cooks sign pointing you in the right direction.  Turn left there onto County Road 442 and go about 5 miles.  At that point, be looking for a green sign that says Thunder Lake and Steuben, as well as a red old brick building on the right that used to be a school.  Turn left onto Thunder Lake Road.  Follow that road for approximately 15 miles.  It will eventually turn to gravel.  From the gravel, go about 4 miles yet and look for our sign on the left.  Turn left onto Foote Lake Road/42.5 Road/Country Road 440 and go 500 feet to the second left and you're there!  Wrap around the big brown Pine cabin to the Office where a card will be pinned to the office sign with your last name on it.  Remove your card and follow the directions to your cabin!

From the lower peninsula:  Cross Mackinac Bridge and take US 2 West towards Escanaba.  When you get to Manistique, keep traveling through until you get to Thompson, approximately 5.5 miles.  Once in Thompson, turn right on North 149 towards Palms Book State Park.  This is well marked, and there is also a flashing yellow light at this turnoff.  Follow this road to the end and take a left on Schoolcraft County Road 442.  Not far from that turn is Linda's Bread Box where you can get a fishing license and bait if needed.  You will follow CR 442 approximately 5 miles and at that point will be looking for a green sign that says Thunder Lake and Steuben, as well as a red old brick building on the left that used to be a school.  Turn right onto Thunder Lake Road.  Follow that road for approximately 15 miles.  It will eventually turn to gravel.  From the gravel, go about 4 miles yet and look for our sign on the left.  Turn left onto Foote Lake Road/42.5 Road/Country Road 440 and go 500 feet to the second left and you're there!  Wrap around the big brown Pine cabin to the Office where a card will be pinned to the office sign with your last name on it.  Remove your card and follow the directions to your cabin!

From Munising:  When you leave Munising on M28 toward Newberry, follow that road about 10 miles until you get into Shingleton.  I don't think the speed limit even changes in Shingleton, so be on the lookout for their town sign.  Once in Shingleton, turn right on M94 towards Manistique.  You will follow this road a approximately 12 miles until you see a green sign to Thunder Lake Road/Steuben County Hwy 437.   Follow this road (which will eventually turn to gravel) for approximately 5.5 miles, always veering to your left.  You will cross Indian River and hit a long straightaway, which will reassure you that you're headed the right direction.  You will eventually come to the Resort sign on your right.  Turn right, and then take the second left into our Resort entrance.  Wrap around the big brown Pine cabin to the Office where a card will be pinned to the office sign with your last name on it.  Remove your card and follow the directions to your cabin!
